Infinity, Laminam and Stonepeak Porcelain Panels Compared

Infinity, Laminam and Stonepeak offer large porcelain or ceramic surfaces in different sizes and thicknesses. For a Kansas City shower, fireplace or feature wall, the useful comparison is the exact product: its usable dimensions, approved application, backing, finish and installation instructions.

KC Large Format Tile provides porcelain-panel installation. This guide compares manufacturer documentation checked on October 5, 2026; it does not imply dealer status or manufacturer endorsement. Confirm the selected product and finish before ordering.

Side-by-side

Planning question Infinity Laminam Stonepeak Plane 2.0
Which size? Product documentation includes 1600 × 3200 and 1620 × 3240 mm formats; confirm supplied and usable dimensions for the selection Formats vary by product; examples include 1000 × 3000, 1200 × 3000 and 1620 × 3240 mm Nominal 60 × 120 in.; published actual dimensions 59.06 × 118.19 in.
Which thickness? The selected product sheet controls availability; 6, 12 and 20 mm occur in the range Thin cladding products through thicker 12+ and 20+ slabs; the application table distinguishes uses 6 mm; the broader Stonepeak family includes other thicknesses
What about backing? Ask for the exact product's backing and installation requirements A “+” identifies a reinforced version with a fiberglass backing Confirm the selected product and setting system
What about bookmatching? Select a documented bookmatch product and ask for its layout and trimming requirements Product-specific matching tolerances apply; thicker-slab guidance discusses graphic variation Use the selected collection's guidance; generic bookmatch information does not settle every product's edge condition
What documents matter? Product data sheet, current application and installation guidance Product data sheet and cladding/flooring guide Plane 2.0 data sheet, brochure and current installation-system guidance

The installation guide explains why these differences matter for access, seams, wall preparation and waterproofing.

Infinity: confirm the supplied format

Infinity's Iconic Cipollino product sheet illustrates why a product name and thickness are more useful than a broad brand preference. It publishes technical tests and dimensions, and its dimensional-test footnote distinguishes rectified slabs. It should not be read as proof that every Infinity slab of a particular thickness arrives at one fixed usable size.

Ask the supplier for:

  • Actual supplied size and usable size after any required trimming
  • Thickness and whether the back carries reinforcement
  • Documentation for the intended wall, wet-area or hearth application
  • Lot and shade information for the complete order
  • Bookmatch or sequence instructions, if the pattern is part of the design
  • Current installation instructions for the exact product and substrate

Inspect the panels and resolve visible damage or pattern concerns before cutting. The supplier's current order terms should define inspection deadlines and remedies.

Laminam: thickness and application belong together

Laminam's size and thickness information distinguishes vertical cladding, flooring, worktops and other uses. Do not assume a surface suitable for one application is documented for all of them. Its “+” products have a fiberglass backing, which is relevant to handling and bonding.

The cladding and flooring guide covers substrate checks, handling, adhesive application and joints. Its cover is dated April 2021 despite the file name. Treat it as a manufacturer reference and obtain the current requirements for the product supplied to your project.

For layout, Laminam's 2025 furnishing guide discusses graphic variation and a 3 cm bookmatch tolerance for the thicker products it covers. That figure is not a universal tolerance for every thin wall panel. Confirm the selected collection's match and dry layout before approving cuts.

Stonepeak Plane 2.0: a clear nominal-size example

Stonepeak's Plane 2.0 product page lists 6 mm panels, Natural and Polished finishes, nominal 60 × 120 and 30 × 60-inch formats, and U.S. origin.

Its 2026 data sheet gives the larger panel's actual inch dimensions as 59.06 × 118.19 inches. A wall drawn at a full 60 inches therefore needs a fit check; “5 by 10” is not enough information to approve a layout.

The 2026 brochure lists 2.88 pounds per square foot and 48.44 square feet per panel, giving approximately 140 pounds for a full panel. This is the panel weight, before mortar or handling equipment.

The current Plane 2.0 data sheet marks the product as not rectified. Stonepeak's general bookmatch guide describes some 6 mm products differently. Confirm edge condition and trimming requirements for the exact collection; do not transfer a generic statement across product lines.

Stonepeak's broader ranges also include thicker slabs. A thick hearth or bench surface needs its own product, support and installation review; it is not simply a thicker substitute for a wall panel.

Five decisions before you order

  1. List every surface. Shower wall, feature wall, floor, bench top and hearth may require different products or details.
  2. Draw with usable dimensions. Leave the specified joints and any trimming allowance. Our seam-planning example shows a nominal-size mismatch.
  3. Check access. A lighter thin panel can still be too long to turn through a stairwell. Check the entire route and the final cut-piece sizes.
  4. Approve pattern and finish. Review full-panel images or actual slabs, the intended sequence and the product's match limits. Samples do not show a whole bookmatched wall.
  5. Confirm supply and installation together. Availability, lot, order quantity, freight, storage and the installation documents all affect the project.

What to compare in the showroom

Photograph the product label as well as the sample. Record the manufacturer, collection, color, finish, thickness and size. Ask to see full-panel images, since a small sample may miss large veins or repeats.

If the design combines thin walls and thick horizontal pieces, compare the actual products together. Similar names or finishes do not guarantee a visual match across thicknesses or production lots.

For wet walls, ask for the installation-system documentation as well as the porcelain's test sheet. Low water absorption in the face does not replace a waterproofed shower assembly. For fireplaces, the appliance's instructions also determine where the finish can be used.

Buying versus installing

Before placing the order, settle who buys, receives and inspects the panels, who is responsible for damage, and where material will be stored. Those arrangements belong in the proposal or supplier order.

If you already have panels, include their product details, quantity and storage location in your inquiry. A material purchase alone does not confirm that the panels fit the wall or that the selected installation method is suitable.
